There are several users who are in need of an intuitive tool that helps keep users on track. The simple answer is no. Independio is being designed to enhance in-person community support interventions by creating a program that supports individuals whether they are with their staff or on their own. Overtime, Independio can support individuals with specialized supports allowing highly educated professionals, such Behavior Support Specialists and Skill Building Professionals, to work on more cases. This would eliminate the significant budget increases in Pennsylvania for waiver services, and reduce the extended waiting periods on waiver waiting lists.
Initially, Independio will focus on perfecting its process and usefulness in the Pennsylvania market, however, the long-term goal is to make Independio national in the United States, then global across all countries. More research will be done to support the growth of Independio in various domestic and cross-cultural markets. Announcements will be made regularly about updates and further development plans.
Independio does require an individual to have a mobile device for downloading and using the app. If the Individual does not have a device, they could use Independio with staff and caretakers, however, Independio is working on a solution for ensuring all Pennsylvania adults being served on the waivers will have access to a device for using Independio regularly.
Yes, Independio has a license option for professionals to access the website log-in area to add new cases, transfer old cases back to their current, past or a new agency or state, create plans, customize plans, and so much more. The system is designed to ensure professionals have all the features necessary to make goal setting, tracking, reporting and assessing easier and quicker than ever before. You can preview these customizations on the “My Account” dashboard using the demo account:

Independio is aiming to go live some time in late 2026. The app will need to be tested and deemed ready to be used by a coding team. Announcements will be made from this website and throughout the field to ensure as many people as possible are aware of Independio’s launch.
